Our Camp at High Africa

In our camp we started by going into the Elwierda Bus.We all were having fun, looking at the mountains,streams and river.We through the tunnel outside of Cape Town.My friend played guitar and we sang to the song “Diamonds”,we  ate sweets and treats in the bus.

 My favourite activity was the gigantic rock climbing wall,it was about 11m high. I was able to reach the top.We also did the leap of faith,where we were supposed the climb this pole and jump into this small metal bar,I was the only one in my group to hold onto the bar like Spider-Man!

In our last day in High Africa,they decided to let us do our own dinner,which was potjie!
We had lots of fun making potjie there was potatoes,pumpkin,carrots and  onions, etc.
Our tasted so heavenly! I never trie potjie before it was so fun and delicious!
I really enjoyed camp and it’s the funniest camp I have ever went I hope we’ll be able to come here again!

My Grade 5 Experience so far

Kirstenbosch

I have had a good weeks so far in Grade 5!

My favourite moment was when we went to Kirstenbosch, the Cape Floral Kingdom.We first learned about the Fynbos family, Protea, Erica,Restios and etc.

I enjoyed seeing the trees and flowers that were in the garden! We saw these Oak and Willow trees that live up to 100 years! We went to see the Teddy Bear Mountain. We had a little activity and answered some questions.

We had a little break and went with our Facilitator, Sonia, we all went to look at the flowers inside this little glass pained box.After we did all the activities. We stop to eat and play! We all went by the streams and saw tiny tadpoles.We saw big gooses and guinea fowls.We went through the Boomslang Brigde.In the outing I had to carry Shikina's sportsbag all the way through the outing.After that, we were done with the outing.I enjoyed so much about the outing and learned so much about the Cape Floral Kingdom!

Grade 4 Camp

In February we went to camp at Simonsberg with the Quails and the Guinea Fowls class.We had lots of fun! First we went to the Giraffe House to see some awesome animals!We had a reptile show that I enjoyed a lot!There was a snake and a spider that they showed us.We fed some animals and had loads of fun!

We went to Simonsberg on the bus,we then unpacked everything.The Facilitators showed us around! they told us about the forest and some of the activities! the forest was big and open,some of my friends built a big den with some twigs and sticks!We played a lot there it was kind of scary but we had loads of fun!
We went to the pool,it was warm and refreshing,It wasn't that cold at all!

Our first activity was with Lumca. She showed us the first activity that we were going to do.It was a really high zip-line!! I was really scared because I thought I could of fall on the dry land!(dry river)
The other activity we did with Lumca was the Blindfold walk.It was fun and painful because..well....you can't see!

  The other activity we did was with X-Man we went with him to the Obstacle Course we had lots of fun we were all partners.The person behind you,you must help him/her.If you fall 3 times you must go behind the last person!

This activity was with Alan he told us about Aladdin and the lamp but Aladdin had cut his carpet in pieces and had left it there.We wanted to get the lamp past the cannon.We had lots of fun and sometimes we had some problems and it didn't went well.But we all managed to do it!
